Ernie and Kathy Jones met and fell in love while ranching, so it only made sense that they opened a ranch of their own. After researching and scouting for the best area to raise their beef, they bought some land in Southern Indiana (Lynnville to be exact) and set out on their dream. Circle S/J Ranch was born! They began working on finding the perfect cattle to raise with their partners and fellow ranch enthusiasts. They took this plot of reclaimed coal mines and slowly but surely turned it into a ranch even John Wayne would be proud of. Once they began their herd it grew quickly, and so did their passion for providing grass finished beef to their friends and family. Since then they have continued to diversify their cattle by researching what breeds can help lower cholesterol and provide other health benefits. They recently discovered that Devonshire cattle fit the ticket and do well with the Southern Indiana climate and moved the herd to the new breed. In 2015 Circle S/J Ranch was officially dissolved. The herd was split and Triple J Ranch was formed! The "Triple J" stands for all 3 Jones': Ernie, Kathy, and Angel. Unfortunately, Ernie's other love (besides his family) was building broadcast towers and in 2015 he passed away on the job. He will truly be missed as a friend, father, husband, brother, and rancher. His knowledge and passion for providing fantastic tasting grass-finished beef has continued to drive Kathy as she now heads up the ranch. Ernie was a fantastic man and his spirit is in everything we do at Triple J Ranch. He always stated "It has to have a purpose", and our purpose is to help our friends, family, and customers stay healthy and happy with our product. We never truly hang up our boots because our lives have become dedicated to providing healthy and delicious beef. We truly love what we do and believe that our product is far superior to that of what you find in a traditional grocery. Not only in the health benefits but in the taste too.
