Triple- J Ranch has a lot of animals, sometimes so many we can't remember who is who. Lucky for us we also like to take a lot of photos. We want you to get to know the herd and who makes the farm run. We wouldn't have nearly as much fun on the ranch if it weren't for them.
Meet Kathy Jones. Kathy is the lead ranch hand and owner of Triple-J Ranch. Her love of providing grass finished beef is apparent in everything she does. From being a loving mother to her children Megan, Karalyn and Andy, Mimi to Angel and Michael, entertainer, and master chef, she puts love in everything she does. Her philosophy is simple- create a quality product again and again and watch people come back for more. Her ranch is truly the culmination of of a lifetimes worth of work and she continues to put in that work every day.
The herd! They are the ones we do this for! From sun up to sun down (and everything in between) we are working hard for them! We recently blended our herd with both Devonshire cattle and Black Angus to help make sure you get the healthiest and most delicious cuts of beef possible. We say that these cows have "one bad day" but everything leading up to it is nothing but sun, grazing, and love from everyone at Triple-J Ranch.
Stella & Sparkplug came to the ranch in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Donkeys are notorious for protecting cattle and fending off coyotes so when Kathy brought the idea up to Ernie he was hard pressed to find a reason not to get Stella. She had answered the question of "does it serve a purpose?" and Stella was brought to the ranch. It was soon discovered that Stella was due with Sparkplug and the whole farm patiently awaited his arrival in July of 2016. Both mama and baby are doing great and continue to serve as watch-donkeys on the ranch.
Luke and EJ. Luke is the German Shepherd on the Right and EJ is the calf on the left. EJ was abandoned on the ranch and Luke is the always-watching protector. Luke roams freely on the acreage and likes to check to make sure everything is running smoothly. You can often see him running behind the Polaris helping herd the cattle or napping in front of the fire. Luke is always in the action and keeps everyone running smoothly.
Abby, the originas l. Abby is the flagship hound at Triple J Ranch and spends most of her days barking to be let inside or barking to be let outside. She loves getting into what she shouldn't and cuddling at night. She is the protector of the homestead and can always be spotted walking up the drive with a wagging tail and tongue hanging out of her mouth.
Jonesie and Max both came to the ranch by chance. Max as a stray that needed some love from a local shelter and Jonesie purely by chance. Jonesie came to the ranch after finding her way into the house after being hit by a car. Kathy searched for the owner but no one ever came and Jonesie has been by Kathy's side ever since. Both are truly a blessing and help mellow out the other critters and ranchers on the farm. They love a good Polaris ride and can often be found where ever Kathy is.
